October is pumpkin time in central Ohio where I live. Without a doubt, pumpkins are sure to grace the front steps of neighborhood homes. They decorate farm trailers being readied for hayrides. Large pumpkins are carved into fancy (and not-so-fancy) jack-o-lanterns. Most definitely, the tastier varieties of pumpkin will make tummies happy when filled with pies, cookies, cakes, etc. You name it. . .it will be made with pumpkin!
Someone once said, “The only things certain in life are death and taxes.” I suppose that is true in some respects. But next year when you plant that small, nondescript pumpkin seed in the garden bed, aren’t you pretty certain that. . .given the right conditions of soil, water, and sunshine. . .that seed will grow into an elaborate vine producing an abundance of pumpkins?
Today, live your life like a pumpkin. . .beyond question or doubt. Live your life. . .certainly!
