Today's photo is of sunlight earnestly streaming through a dense woodland setting. It is on important business to reach the forest floor.
During my childhood, I lived with my parents and brother in
a home surrounded by woods. In central
Ohio, the woods are made of primarily hickory, oak, and birch trees. The hickory and oak grow to be very tall, and
the birch and smaller trees (dogwood, pawpaw, hawthorn, and more) fill in underneath
the canopy.
If you’ve ever quietly sat in a wooded area for some time,
there’s a feeling of deep peace and sincerity
that comes over you. As you listen to
the woodland creatures, you’ll hear the songs of many birds, the chittering of
squirrels and chipmunks, the rustling of leaves while deer and maybe
even a turkey search for food. All the
animals are on important business,
living their lives earnestly.
Today, meditate on basking in the sunlight of a woodland setting, living your life earnestly, going
about your daily tasks with sincerity,
for what you do is deeply
important within the Big Scheme of
Things.
